Tiger Woods’ PGA Tour season debut will have to wait at least another week as the 15-time major champion is not in the field for next week’s Arnold Palmer Invitational. Woods, however, will tee it up Monday in the annual Seminole Pro-Member tournament, which is played at Seminole Golf Club in Juno Beach, Fla. Woods is playing with former PGA of America CEO Seth Waugh for the second consecutive year. The field at the Seminole Pro-Member includes Rory McIlroy, Justin Thomas, Nelly Korda, Tom Brady and MLB commissioner Rob Manfred, among others. Woods is also in the lineup to play in Tuesday night’s TGL match between Jupiter Links and the Atlanta Drive. Jupiter needs a win Tuesday and some help to make the playoffs. Woods sat out last week’s TGL match as he continues to grieve the loss of his mother Kultida, who passed away at age 80 last month. Woods played in the first TGL match after her death but admitted it was an emotional experience and that it would take time for him to start to focus on golf again. “I had a hard time driving down here,” Woods said. “I hadn’t hit a golf ball since I played with the President and just put everything away and shut it off. I had a really hard time getting here and then reliving all the moments that we’ve had, my mom, how excited she was to have Charlie drive her here. So those are some great moments and great memories. “I really haven’t thought about golf, so I don’t think I’m going to be thinking about it for just a little bit here,” Woods offered later that night. Woods planned to play more PGA Tour events in the lead-up to the Masters, but he has yet to tee it up this season. He could make his debut next week at the Players Championship. He has not played on the PGA Tour since last year’s Open Championship. SOURCE: GOLF.COM
